UP AND COMING YOUNGSTERS AND GROUP PERFORMERS ON SHOW AT PRTC THIS SUNDAY

With 18 races in total over the two race days at Perak Turf Club this weekend, the first heat of the Malaysian 3YO Championship over 1200m will be the highlight race as part of the ten race program on Sunday. A field of 14 runners will be striving to capture the RM100,000 purse on offer as they endeavor to qualify for the RM200,000 Final to be conducted here at PRTC on June 30. Early scratching is number 5 Ace’s Wild. See article http://perakturfclub.my/article-detail.php?post_id=339 for full preview.

 TRUSON

Another enthralling clash will occur in Race 5, the 1600m Ishbiliya Stakes, where Group One winners TRUSON and DAVINCI are set to lock horns in the small field. TRUSON returned to top form at his third run for the Shane Edwards stable with a comprehensive victory over 1600m in KL. The 7yo boasts a good record of 3 wins and 2 placings from 5 starts at the Ipoh mile and should prove hard to beat despite the 60.5kg.

 DAVINCI

DAVINCI has maintained solid form since his Penang Gold Cup victory in December and will have the weight advantage on his main adversary. The 7yo drops 2.5kg from his last start 2nd in KL and his record at 1600m includes four wins. Coronation Cup place getter MULTIBLUE SHARK appeared to have every chance when 3rd last Sunday but has only missed the place once in six attempts at the mile. RUM ‘N’ RAISINS , who scored at its local debut in December, will be one to watch first up. Recent trials of TILSWORTH FREDDIE suggest he is gradually working his way back to the form he displayed 18 months ago when he posted 5 wins in a row, culminating in the 2017 G1 Coronation Cup.

Race 6, the 1400m Jazzmint Delight Handicap, looks an open affair with the top five in the weights expected to feature here. Former smart juvenile, SAKURA JAPAN will be fitter following two runs this preparation and might be the horse to beat. The 4yo mare posted two victories in succession last year, including a win in a heat of the 2018 Malaysian 3YO Championship, before sustaining an injury which prevented her from running in the 3YO Final.

 PENDRAGON PRINCESS

Another handy mare in top form is PENDRAGON PRINCESS, who used her early pace to lead all the way over 1400m last week. The 4yo rises in weight but scored easily last time and successive wins are not out of the question.

 RA FORCE

BIG BOSS was sharpened up in winning a trial here on Tuesday while RA FORCE is a proven Class 4 performer and has won 2 from 3 at the track/distance. BIG LIGHTNING is one to watch judging from his impressive trial in KL last Tuesday.
