Perak Turf Club - PERTH RACING TROPHY TO HIGHLIGHT PRTC PROGRAMME

PERTH RACING TROPHY TO HIGHLIGHT PRTC PROGRAMME

The Perth Racing Trophy will headline the two day on course meeting at PRTC this weekend with 18 races set down for decision over both days. The seven race card on Saturday is predominantly made up of Class 5 (B) events for horses rated 35 points and below. The eleven race card on Sunday is a mixture of Class 4 and 5 with the feature race for Class 3 gallopers over 1200m (Race 4).

Perth track manager, Mr Chris Nation will be in attendance to present the trophies to winning connections following the running of the Perth Racing Trophy.

The Sharee Hamilton trained L’APPRENTI SORCIER is yet to miss a place in 5 local starts and will be looking to break its Malaysian duck on Sunday. The 8yo resumed from a bleeding attack on its home circuit last month finishing a one length 2nd to inform stable mate VERBAL LINK and looks a genuine chance of atoning for that defeat.

 TRUDEAU

Veteran performer TRUDEAU failed to handle the heavy track in the Penang Sprint Trophy (G1) recently after some handy form in Class 3 company previously. The 10yo will have to be at the top of his game to be competitive with 59kg on his back.

 CELERITAS

CELERITAS looks a good lightweight chance with 52kg and has been competitive at this level before. The 6yo is an on pace runner who has placed in a couple of strong Class 4 races recently and is ideally drawn on pole position.

 LUCKY DAPPER

There are numerous horses with early pace and LUCKY DAPPER, CHAMPAGNE REIN and L’APPRENTI SORCIER are likely to roll forward at the start with CELERITAS settling off the pace.

OK KID is racing in career best form and can produce a big finish if there is a genuine pace on early. The 6yo posted successive victories at Penang and wasn’t disgraced finishing 4th in heavy going at the same track last start.

 Q NINE MAGIC

Q NINE MAGIC has been freshened up and is one to watch first up. The 8yo grey has been a most consistent conveyance for the Kevin Coetzee stable with two placings in Class 3 grade and could benefit from the short spell.

RUSSELL THE CROWE can never be underestimated with the 53.5kg with encouraging performances in the Metro A Stakes races in KL. The 8yo has finished close up behind some above average types in recent starts and provide some value for the trifecta.
