PREVIEW FOR IPOH RACING SUNDAY

Day Two of the Gold Vase Meeting 2018 takes place on Sunday with an eleven race programme with the track rating as Yielding at time of writing. There was a heavy shower late Tuesday afternoon but the rain has abated since so a Yielding to Good track should prevail providing there is no further rain leading up to start time.

Tipsters Best Bets:

RACING GUIDE:

BERCHAM

R8 No4 BERCHAM – Has an impeccable record down the 1000m straight course at Ipoh with 4 wins and 10 placings from 11 starts. The 8yo was well beaten in his two recent starts over 1400m and 1600m but it appears at this stage of his career, the horse will be much better suited to sticking to journeys not exceeding 1200m. Suggested trifecta chances are (1) LUCKY DAPPER, (5) OK KID, 7 ARIEL and (10) HOFFMAN.

TURF GUIDE:

R10 No5 ANAK WARRIOR – Having its 6th run back in Class 5, is overdue for a win and looks well primed following two seconds in a row. Was a heavy supported RM18 favourite last Saturday and had every chance when runner up to War Lord. The 7yo won in Class 5 company back in February and looks hard to beat. Trifecta chances given to (7) SPARKLER, (8) ZAC GALLANT, (9) MR DREAMMAN and (10) REAL HERO.

EAGLE EYE:

R2 No 1 GOLDEN CASINO – Has been knocking on the door with 3 placings from 3 local starts since and receives its best chance of returning to the winners circle. The consistent 6yo will be lumbered with top weight of 59kg (less 1kg) and hasn’t won a race since October 2015. That could all change at 12.45pm local time on Sunday. Trifecta chances include (2) IDYLLIC SCENERY, (5) OUR GENIUS, (6) ONE FOR ALL AND (7) PLATINUM LIFE.

TIDAL WAVE

R7 No1 TIDAL WAVE – Has been a consistent performer in the higher grades for some time now and was placed at the track/distance in March. The 6yo was placed behind the smart Captain Jazz last start and enters Sunday’s contest as the highest rated galloper. The consistent (5) Q NINE MAGIC can be added to the trifecta with minor hopes given to (7) HELLO SAYANG, (9) FOLLOW THE WIND and (15) FLYING DARCI providing the value.

WINNER 21:

WILLIAM KING

R3 No3 WILLIAM KING – The former Australian galloper will be having his 10th local start and his past two efforts suggests as return to winning form is imminent. The 5yo won a 1400m Class 4 race earlier this year and didn’t disgrace over 1200m last start. The rise in journey will suit and can be mastered in trifectas with (2) CHERISH, (5) LUCK SUCCESS, (8) TRIPLE ONE D’GREAT and (13) BAHAR.
