Perak Turf Club - JAPANESE FLAVOUR AT PRTC RACES ON SATURDAY

JAPANESE FLAVOUR AT PRTC RACES ON SATURDAY

Ten races have been programmed for Perak Turf Club on Saturday and the Restricted Maiden gallopers will be contesting for the highest prize money on offer in the Odds Park Japan And PRTC Friendship Cup over 1200m. Fifty delegates from the Japanese consortium will be attending the races on Saturday and Mr Naoyuki Miyashita, the CEO of Odds Park Corp will be presenting the prizes to the winning connections after the race.

Six out of the eleven starters will be making their race track debuts. Of those with race experience, AUSPICIOUS STAR is the most experienced with 7 starts and with 3 seconds to her credit and will be one of the likely favourites. D’GREAT MAGIC had no luck in its only start at KL recently when severely hampered midrace and should improve on that effort. GHOST BANK has been steadily improving.

Of the unraced horses both ROBBEN and FLYING AMIGA both ran well in a trial here recently while KULIM WINGS showed rapid progress when winning a trial at Penang during the week. Another filly, SYMPHONY ECLIPSE looks well prepared for its debut with several trials also.

Two of Ipoh’s highest rated runners will be contesting the 1200m Tokyo Stakes with TRUSON and BLACK AND WHITE heading the weights in the 14 horse line up. TRUSON drops back in distance following his 1800m victory in KL and will be attempting to defend his Coronation Cup crown next weekend. BLACK AND WHITE is resuming from a short spell and hasn’t started since winning over 1400m here in early September.

 STICK SEEKER

Of the KL visitors, STICK SEEKER has a good record winning 4 from 8 since coming to Malaysia and will be aiming for the hat trick on Saturday. The 6yo has raced once in Ipoh before, when unplaced in the G1 Perak Gold Vase in July, but has rapidly improved since and looks a genuine chance again.

 TIDAL WAVE

Former Singapore galloper, A LA VICTORY is first up since June and raced competitively against the high graders in Kranji. The 6yo has a good first up record and is one to watch. 2016 Penang Sprint Trophy winner, MR ARMSTRONG is on the comeback trail and is heading towards the Group One races in the coming weeks while stable mate, TIDAL WAVE should prove the best value stepping back to its favourable journey (6 wins@1200m).

Note: STAR QUALITY is an early scratching.
