Ten races this Sunday at PRTC and Hong Kong racing returns

Ten races have been programmed for Sunday’s card at PRTC commencing at 1.15pm. Simulcast racing will be coming through from Australia while the Hong Kong season commences on Sunday also with a ten race card at Sha Tin.

Early Scratchings: R1 (1) Ready Fortune, R2 (6) Drought, R4 (3) Our River Dancer, R5 (4) Johnny’s Cafe & (17) Winged Foot, R7 (10) How Huge

Talented galloper, BLACK AND WHITE will be out to atone for his narrow defeat last week when he contests the 1400m Enrich Stakes A (Race 9) at Ipoh on Sunday. The 7yo had every chance when finishing 2nd in the Visit Perak Trophy but his best record is at 1400m with 6 wins from 20 starts and should settle on the pace once again from barrier 7.

Dual Selangor Gold Cup (G1) winner, LISTEN failed to stay the 2000m trip in the KL Piala Emas (G1) last start and looks better suited dropping back in distance. The 8yo has only started twice on the Ipoh circuit for 1 win (1600m) and 1 placing and has scored 4 times at the 1400m journey.

GREAT SCOTT returned to winning form in soft going at Penang last start and will prove hard to beat again. The 6yo has won 2 from 3 on soft tracks and his chances will be enhanced if a wet track prevails on Sunday.

DRAGONFLY is an interesting runner and has not started since finishing 3rd in the Singapore Gold Cup in November 2013. The American bred 8yo has obviously had some injury issues throughout his career posting only 11 starts for 4 wins and 4 placings. Now trained by Richard Lines, DRAGONFLY was unextended in a barrier trial at KL on Tuesday and may need the run.

Of the lightweights, 9yo galloper, FEISTY LEO recaptured his old form with an encouraging 2nd in KL recently while DROGBA and SISTER IN LAW are both second up this preparation and are expected to improve.

Meanwhile, promising 3yo RELAU STAR will be attempting to maintain his unbeaten record when he steps out in the 1200m Perak Man Handicap (Race 8). The son of Captain Sonador was able to lead all the way in a 1200m Restricted Maiden at Ipoh on July 1st before accounting for his older rivals in a Class 4 race at Penang on July 30th , winning by 1.5 lengths as an odds on favourite.

NEVERUNCONDITIONAL, now trained by Kevin Coetzee, is a proven performer in Class 4 and was a recent trial winner. Stable mate DAVINCI did not disgrace last weekend finishing 5th when making late ground and should strip much fitter. OKI OKI is a handy type resuming and is worth considering in trifectas while THE THINKER has early pace and could take catching despite the wide barrier draw.
