Following a heavy shower of rain during the afternoon today (Friday) in the Kinta Valley, the state of the track will be Yielding to Soft. The 11 race programme will commence at 12.45pm with simulcast racing from Australia and Korea.
The 1400m Gunung Korbu Stakes (Race 11) worth RM68,000 will highlight the marathon card of racing as inform galloper, PISCES STAR will be searching for his fourth win in succession. The 6yo backs up from his dominant victory in the 1200m Mitavite Cup last weekend and is currently racing in career best form. The one big query is the horse has had 6 unsuccesful attempts at the 1400m journey previously but has really matured this preparation and the longer distance shouldn’t be an obstacle.
The main danger could be LUCK SUCCESS, which ran very well in the Charity Cup last Sunday finishing 2nd after racing outside the leader for most of the way. The 6yo does tend to over race on occasions but he did lower the colours of Coronation Cup winner, Truson two starts back over 1800m in August. He should strip much fitter second up from a spell.
RIGHT TIMING is a lightweight chance and wasn’t disgraced finishing 6th to PISCES STAR last Sunday after receiving a severe check in the run. The 6yo has won 4 times when backing up a week from a previous run and is getting close to a win.
CRAZY CLUB has not won for 18 months but hasn’t far away in recent starts and is coming off a last start 3rd in KL. INTENTION weakened badly after leading in the Mitavite Cup last week and the dual Course Record holder is expected to improve on that performance.
